2014
The Beginning
The story began with the purchase of a 325d LCI E92 in the spring of 2014.
Soon after the purchase, our founder felt the need to customize the transmission to his liking but discovered that there were simply no options available on the market. The aftermarket did not offer a tool to flash these transmissions via OBD.

2016
First Prototype
Like any automotive project, it started in a cold garage at home.
In August 2016, the founders reached an important milestone by developing the first prototype application for flashing 6-speed vehicles.
The prototype was the culmination of extensive research and testing aimed at solving the common dissatisfaction drivers have with factory transmission settings.

2017
Release of xHP Flashtool
In February 2017, RBT Tuning (former company name) was officially established and made its mark with the release of xHP Flashtool on the Google Play Store, offering support for three BMW models. The app allowed drivers to flash their car's transmission software, unlocking performance, and customization options for the first time.
In December the company released xHP Pro, a version designed specifically for professional tuners for customers who prefer to leave the flashing to a nearby licensed dealer.

2018
Release of xDelete
By May 2018, xHP Flashtool had reached an impressive milestone of 10,000 downloads on the Google Play Store.
Building on this success, xAutomotive launched xDelete in December 2018. This app allowed drivers to deactivate the all-wheel drive (AWD) system on xDrive BMW models, offering a new level of control over their vehicle's drivetrain. xDelete quickly became popular with driving enthusiasts, allowing users to switch between AWD, AWD Sport, AWD Snow, and pure rear-wheel drive.

2019
Support for iOS
In January 2019, xHP Flashtool expanded its capabilities to support BMW's F-Series 8-speed models, marking a significant milestone in its mission to improve transmission performance for a wider range of vehicles.
In August 2019, the company took another major step forward by releasing xDelete and xHP Flashtool on iOS, making these popular tuning tools available to iPhone users for the first time.

2020
Supporting DCT (DKG)
In the summer of 2020, xHP Flashtool made another leap forward by introducing support for DCT (Dual-Clutch Transmission) systems, expanding its reach to a broader range of BMW models.
At the same time, xHP Pro’s dealer network reached a remarkable milestone: 1,000 dealers worldwide. This global network enabled even more car enthusiasts to access expert transmission tuning, solidifying xHP’s reputation as a leader in the automotive performance tuning industry.

2022
Support for 8HP3G
After 2 years of development, we were the first to offer full OBD support for 8HP3G (8HP 3rd Generation) in BMW vehicles. xHP now supports BMW models from MY2004 up to the majority of models currently in production. In total, xHP and xDelete are now installed on over 150,000 devices worldwide, and our user base is growing faster than ever.

2023
Redesign & Racing
In 2023, xAutomotive launched its newly redesigned website, offering a sleek and user-friendly experience for customers.
Alongside the website launch, xHP expanded its support to include G-Series BMW models, providing enhanced tuning options for a broader range of vehicles.
We also completed our first full racing season in the German GTC GT4 Championship with our own M4 GT4.

2024
New Office
In the Spring of 2024, xAutomotive opened a new state-of-the-art office in Linz, Austria, marking a significant step in the company's growth.
Additionally, the company underwent a rebranding, changing its name from RBT Tuning to xAutomotive.
Behind it all is our talented team, whose passion and expertise drive the success of xAutomotive, making this expansion possible.

2026
Launch xA Ultra Wifi Adapter
At the beginning of 2026, xAutomotive launched a new generation of Wifi Adapters, called the xA Ultra. Designed and developed entirely in-house, the adapter is engineered to set new standards and deliver exceptional performance. Built for a lifetime of use.
What sets this adapter apart from its competitors:
- Up to 25% faster than conventional ENET adapters.
- Auto-turn-off when locking the car (can be left plugged in).
- Future-proof with on-the-fly firmware upgrades.
- 100% manufactured in the EU.
The xA Ultra is compliant with FCC (USA) and CE (EU) standards, supports all E, F and G series cars from 2003 to present, and is compatible with all our apps (xHP Flashtool, xDelete, xProtect) and third party apps like bootmod3, MHD and many more.

2026
Introducing xProtect
In February 2026, we entered a completely new field: vehicle security, with a particular focus on theft protection. We developed an app that allows BMW owners to create a custom combination of physical buttons and control elements in the vehicle to lock and unlock the car.
In simple terms, users can define a personal code using controls already installed in the vehicle. Without entering this code, the car can be started, but it cannot be driven.
We are very proud of what we managed to create with this app, hopefully making vehicle theft significantly more difficult and enhancing overall security for BMW owners.

2026
xHP Flashtool for MINI
In summer 2026, we officially expanded xHP Flashtool to a new brand: MINI. After years of refining transmission tuning software for BMW, we brought the same precision, performance, and full control to MINI owners.
What made this launch so special was the technical challenge behind it. For the first time, we worked with Aisin transmissions instead of the ZF or DCT transmissions we had been tuning for years — a completely new transmission family, and a step we are really proud to have taken.
For xAutomotive, this was a big step: beyond a single brand, beyond familiar transmissions, and into new territory. We are excited to welcome MINI drivers into the xHP community — and to see where this new chapter takes us.
